When I think about Anabela Ferguson, I think passion, vivid
color, intense creativity, warmth, urgency and then I notice there is so much
more to this artist. She is definitely
all these things and she is also highly trained in her art. She is a framer, restorer,
and repairer. This isn’t all. She is a hard working entrepreneur who does
not have time to count the hours and the multi-tasking all these jobs require. Plus she has shows. Part of the show is talking to friends, new
clients and spending time talking about her passion, her art.
I have purchased 5 of Anabela’s paintings – one portrait,
two landscapes, and two abstracts that tell stories depending on how you place
them on the wall. They all excite my
imagination or remind me of places I’ve been and stories I’ve heard. Anabela
framed these paintings as well. She has
cleaned, restored and reframed two of my older portraits, one painted in 1945
and another in 1976. They look wonderful
and everyone who sees them appreciates Anabela’s restoration skills.
The last thing I must mention about Anabela’s work is
color. I believe this artist knows more
about color and more colors than anyone in the universe. Her paintings are a feast of color. There are no rules that say this goes or doesn’t
go with this or that color. All colors
are accepted and all colors work with all other colors. It’s one of nature’s lessons. I hope you all
get a chance to see her work in progress or in show. Anabela Ferguson is truly a gifted artist and
a wonderful friend.
